Della
Russel Ocloo, obtained her Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE)
from the KNUST Secondary in Kumasi, Ghana in 1998, after which she
enrolled at Ho Polytechnic and obtained a Higher Diploma in Fashion
Design in 2002.
To fulfil a childhood ambition of being a journalist, she enrolled at the African University College of Communication (AUCC) and pursued a two year diploma programme in Communication Studies, majoring in Journalism from 2006-2008.
She thereafter joined the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), publishers of the Daily Graphic and five other papers for the mandatory national youth service at the Company’s Tema Bureau.
Ms Russel is also a holder of a Bachelor’s of Art Degree (BA) Journalism Major from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ).
Her quest to develop her capacity in the area of oil and gas saw her publishing several articles on the ailing Ghana’s sole oil refinery, Tema Oil Refinery (TOR).
She was engaged permanently by the Graphic Group as a reporter on at General Desk of the Daily Graphic in 2010 having worked as a stringer for two successive years.
She has written and published a series of articles in the area of petroleum and power and have been encouraged to do more since the Daily Graphic at the moment does not a have a dedicated desk or reporters for energy issues.
In writing her stories, Ms. Russel often liaise with various industry players who understand the core issues in the area of petroleum and the power sector and conduct wide consultations to get a deeper understanding of issues that affect the sector and needed to be brought to public attention.
Ms. Russel is married with a son.
