BBC News adopts new digital content management system
BBC News is to implement a new system to increase the speed with which digital content can be sent between its journalists and news desks.
The corporation will introduce the digital media distribution management suite, developed by US-based firm Signiant, to provide intranet, satellite or public internet delivery services between its international offices.
The system, which will be used from March, includes a function that collects and prioritises 'content received from the field', a press release from Signiant said, allowing the news team to 'prioritise stories and allocate bandwith accordingly.'
