New Media Hub to Train Organisations in Digital Fundraising Strategies

In order to boost the skills and capacities of organisations and businesses of all ages to circumvent the present-day challenge of raising and attracting funds needed for their growth, Penplusbytes’ New Media Hub is organizing a one-day training on Digital Fundraising for Organisational Growth on Thursday, 18th February, 2015 at the New Media Hub in Osu, Accra. Here is how to apply.

The aim of business practitioners to see their ventures grow nonetheless, funding has remained a fundamental challenge to achieving this target especially at the early stages of the business – a situation that has led to the collapse of many.

With the internet heralded as one of the most powerful tools available to fundraisers, the Digital Fundraising certificate course is, specifically designed to expose entrepreneurs, start-up managers, SMEs, Non-profits, Civil Society Organisations, religious bodies, business owners and individuals familiar with the internet to the effective use of the different digital applications for fundraising while imparting skills in effectively courting donor support and opportunities.

To be facilitated by Kafui A. Prebbie, a successful entrepreneur and CEO of TechAide with support from the U.S Global Development Lab (USAID) and a team from FundraisingAfrica, the training assures participants of practical skills acquisition in a small focused class size that is conveniently structured for both advanced and late learners.

The Executive Director of Penplusbytes, Kwami Ahiabenu, II, alludes to the growing shortfall in funding options for international donor agencies to adequately meet needs of the ever increasing number of businesses and CSOs springing up in Ghana with access becoming more competitive now than ever before. “The knowledge of digital fundraising would invariably open up funding possibilities to entrepreneurs to gradually build and sustain their businesses,” he added.

The training ( will focus on building the ability of participants to understanding the importance of digital fundraising as a basis to designing and executing a fundraising strategy that works. They will learn how to understand the availability of effective online search and successful applications on websites of donor agencies, building more relationships and use the opportunities in Digital Fundraising to grow their businesses.
